Biography:
Eobard Thawne, also known as the Reverse Flash, is a major antagonist within The CW's Arrowverse, specifically in the TV Show *The Flash*. Hailing from the future, Thawne is a scientist obsessed with Barry Allen, ultimately becoming his archenemy after gaining similar speedster abilities.
Thawne travels back in time, intending to kill Barry Allen. Unable to reach Barry as a child, he instead murders Barry's mother, Nora Allen, altering the timeline. He then becomes stranded in the past. He manipulates events to ensure Barry becomes The Flash, intending to harness his speed for his own return to the future.
He assumes the identity of Harrison Wells, a brilliant scientist, after killing the real Wells and his wife, and uses Wells' research to accelerate Barry's powers. Reverse Flash first appears in the pilot episode of *The Flash* TV Show "City of Heroes". He is a key antagonist throughout the series, constantly challenging Barry and threatening the timeline.
